Delaware's two senators are pleased that the United State and Russia have agreement resume exporting U.S. poultry products to Russia.
Democratic Sens. Tom Carper and Ted KAUFMAN said Thursday that the agreement came after weeks of efforts by them and the Obama administration to persuade Russia to lift trade barriers against U.S. poultry.
Russia, a major poultry importer, banned all chlorine-treated poultry imports starting Jan. 1, outlawing the 600,000 tons of poultry allowed from the U.S. under revised quotas.
Carper said is Delaware's largest market for chicken exports.
